Dale was always the one in our class that could make us all smile and forget that we were having a bad day. It saddens all of us today as we learn of his death. Please join our class in passing along memories you have of Dale. He touched so many lives in his life and led by example that no matter what, YOU CAN DO ANYTHING you set your mind to. We will all miss him and cherish the memories we hold dear. God Bless and save us a spot to watch the Big Game!

Patsy, thanks for the memories in photo. One time I will never forget is a football game, I believe we were playing Willow Springs, and Dale was called on to play. I think that was one of the high points of his high school career. I remember that the team on the sidelines (our team) was not watching the play, nor what the other team was even doing, every eye was on Dale to see what he was going to do. One thing I do recall is, and believe me he blew me away, when he recounted all the SCA scores each week from memory. What a mind that could recall scores and stats. I most of all will miss that smiling face. I can not recall a time that he didn't smile when he approached me. We know he had to have had problems and issues in his life, but he never let any of us know it. A word that I use to describe this man is integrity, and he had a lot of it. This Cabool icon will truly be missed by all who live in it and all who knew him. Joe Stark
Dale was a great friend, He was always happy and smiling. My memory of Dale is Coach Stringer and Coach Kynion are in the coaches office an are talking about football scores. Stringer asks Dale what the friday night scores were in the SCA and Dale listed them all.
I also was working for Radio Shack in Jefferson City and a manager in Columbia quit so I was taking care of his store also for several months. I go into a Steak house called G and D's right next door to the Columbia store and Dale was in there at lunch time helplng them do dishes and bus tables. He come over and sat and we talk for an hour! He said Cookie is that you! He was always smiling!
Dale I will remember your smile. You were a true friend to me and to Cabool Football and we will miss you!
I want to share a few memories of Dale that I have. The most and far most is his life that he lived. Dale alway had the bigest smile and was alwaly very friendly. Dale had time for you no matter what. Dale gives a new meaning to live. At is to give of yourself and ask or want for nothing in return. Thank You Dale for your friendship to my dad and all the rest of us. May your life (DALE) live in and through the rest of us. Won't forget you. See you later, no good byes. God Bless, Jane (Vonallmen) Gittinger

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of Dale. He was an integral part of our Class of 1977. Melodie (Mowry) Lewis
What can I say? Dale was a great person. What intrigued me the most about Dale was his can do attitude. He never let himself think that he couldn't do it cause whatever he put his mind to he accomplished it! And with pretty good results I might add. I wish I could have known Dale longer than I did. But the five years that I had to know him as a friend and as one of my classmates was a hoot! He could make anyone smile and laugh! I was glad I had a chance to talk with him at our reunion in 2008. Dale old buddy rest in peace and hope to see ya again!
Senior class of 1977 vs coaches and faculty basketball game For any of us that played, the coaches were winning at half time. Dale started the second half. Dales first shot nothing but net. SR CLASS, COACHES AND THE CROWED WENT WILD. Dale was a shooter , he missed a couple of shots. But we kept giving him the ball. From just inside of half court Dale let it fly and made the shot. It was if Dale was telling us the first one was no accident. GOD BLESS YOU DALE.
Dale I will miss your smile and friendship my prayers go with you your family and all who will miss you

Dale always had a smile and always took the time to visit when I saw him in town. I also remember in high school the way he could always remember the football scores every week and best I remember he remembered basketball scores too - not just our games, but other SCA teams. You could always depend on Dale to keep you updated on the sports scene. He will be missed.
I remember working with Dale at Landmark Steakhouse in high school. He was the dishwasher and I was a waitress. He always had the biggest smile!! That smile will certainly be missed.
There was no better friend to have than Dale and he was always there. Just thinking of him passing brings sadness to my heart and a tear to my eyes. Dale old friend you are missed and will always be remembered and kept in our harts. If only we could all have had his out look on life just think of where we would be..................
