Rodney Wood to Compete Internationally
Wood invited to compete at International Powerlifting Meet
West Plains resident and Team USA Member Rodney Wood has been invited to compete at the International Powerlifting Federation Masters World Powerlifting Championships at Ostrava, Czech Republic. Wood will leave for the competition September 27 and return on October 3. When asked how he felt about being asked to compete in this athletic event, Wood responded, “I feel very honored to represent the United States, West Plains, and the state of Missouri at the World Championships. I am one of two lifters out of the Midwest region who was selected to go to this competition, so I feel that this is a huge privilege.” Wood will compete in the squat, bench press, and deadlift. Wood trains at The Firm Health and Fitness Club in West Plains. Fundraising efforts to assist Wood with travel expenses include Tee Shirt Sales and a Fitness Expo to be held September 12 at The Firm.
