Cabool Space

Social Space for Cabool Alumni

When are we having one and is anyone coming this time? It's a lot of work to have only 10 local people show up. I know our class can do better than that!!! If nothing else, we can share OLD stories and OLD pictures. The way Jan Summerlin looks, I'm sending someone else in my place. She looks better than ever. It's good to see you are on here, Bill.
Do you still have your clarinet? I do. I never play it, but I can't part with it, either. Have a good week!

I think we should begin planning for our Class Reunion on Memorial Day Week-end 2009. We can "piggy-back" with the Cabool Alumni All-School Class Reunion (held the same week-end) and this will give multiple reasons for our classmates to come back to Cabool. A chance to see 1974 graduates plus lots more alumni from other graduating classes.

In talking to Bob Nichols, Alumni President, we need to consider booking a "place" for the banquet as many classes have already made reservations.

Since Debbie Hurd Ebert has restaraunt experience I recommend she be in charge of securing us a banquet hall & food.

Let's get the word out to our classmates so that everyone can schedule time off now for the Memorial Day week-end 2009. - glen
For 80 or 10? What kind of food would you like?
Good questions!
Will we have 25-30 alumni w/ spouses = 50-60?
Our food choice might be based on where we get a banquet room. I'm not sure who can handle 55 people in Cabool.
El Imperial probably isn't large enough.
Shetler's just opened a banquet room on the side.
El Rancho's banquet room is probably large enough.
Or we could rent a cafeteria at the school, Drury College, VFW hall, Coopers, etc and have someone cater. I was told that the Gentry boy's catering service are already booked for the week-end with other reunions. - glen
We use a really good bbq guy for our ATV things. Shetler's may be a good choice, too. I'm not sure about El Rancho. It hasn't been too good lately. Did someone else buy it yet?
I had heard that the owners of Midwest Truck Stop are purchasing El Rancho. Until we see the results of the purchase we may not want to reserve there.
Perhaps we use your caterer and try to reserve Drury College's large hall. Would be great opportunity for those coming back Cabool to see the progress being made in Cabool with the college in town. Probably Lou Adams would be the contact at Drury to see if it's available. - glen
What is the date?
Anything going on with our class? The classes of 73 and 74 are supposed to be in charge of the lunch meal on Sat. May 23 for the all school reunion. Linda Morgan came to the first meeting, I came to the second one and gave all my info to Bob and Bonnie Nichols. I need Bob's e-mail address if you have it.
Thanks.
