Hey Tom,
There is talk of an ice cream social at the park during the day for the families and then an evening for the adults. Maybe dinner and then fireworks & drinks somewhere..We need more input from our classmates. Club 60 has a large banquet room in the back. Donna Clark suggest we take over El Imperial. Any ideas anyone has would be helpful.
Thanks,
Pam
I think going to El Imperial or Club 60 would be good. Since we are working on such short notice it would be difficult to plan a catered meal or BBQ anywhere since we won't know how many to plan for. A restaurant would be much easier. El Rancho also has a large banquet room. I'll check with Club 60 to see how big their room is and how many they can hold.
I checked with Club 60 and they can hold 45-50 people in their banquet room. Their hours are 4-10 p.m. They will be open July 4 but not July 5.
El Imperial can hold about 40-45 people in their banquet room and they are open July 4 & 5 until 9 p.m.
I was not able to speak with anyone at El Rancho about their banquet room but they are supposed to call me back tomorrow. I'm pretty sure they will have the largest room and they will be open the 4th and 5th. Club 60 is the only place to have drinks though. If we want to reserve one of these places we will need to do it soon. Let me know what everyone thinks.
I really think we need to have it on sat the 5th. for the people who have to travel from out of state. So, it looks like El Imperial will be the dinner option. But, I think we should see if we can find somewhere to go after that to do fireworks and have drinks and maybe dessert..possibly Matherly's cabin on 181?? What do you all think??
I have talked with several people from our class about our reunion. Everyone seems to agree on Saturday July 5. Tentative plans are to have dinner somewhere (maybe Miller's Grill at Houston???) then go to James Sigman's house for fireworks snacks/desserts, and drinks. As of right now, it seems that Millers Grill at Houston is the most popular choice for dinner because they would have more room and could accomodate us better than El Imperial or El Rancho. Another suggestion I heard was to have a BBQ at the park so we can bring our kids. If everyone wants to have family time and bring our kids, we can do that at dinner either at the park or at Millers Grill. Please let me know soon what everyone wants to do!
It has come to my attention that I will not be able to take off work on the 5th of July. However I do not believe it will be a problem to use my place after everyone eats.
