- As I look back over my life, it is quite clear that many of the most powerful outer changes were birthed following a passage of deep pain and challenge. I’ve learned that dark and painful transitions in life are often one of the ways my Soul has of getting my attention, of inviting me into a season of change and new direction. I attended Cabool high school but I didn't Graduate in Cabool Mo. But I Attended for ten years there but when I Got out of Cabool high School I went back to School to the American institute of Occupational trades in Puxico Mo to get a degree in welding for two years. And got certification in 6011 & 7018 modern basic welding course & modern basic oxygen acetylene course and got a Certificate of award for Vocational Excellence in Welding. I had also taken a course of Fire Fighters standard for survival. S-130 FireFighters basic training & S-190 Introduction to fire behavior. And fought two Controlled fires. And went to work at Great Dane Trailers in Memphis Tn for Five years building platform trailers. And met my wife in Mississippi been marred now for thirteen years now Jacqueline Lynnette (Dunlap) Burdick. And live and still to this day live in Mississippi. And went to Southern Fabricators University and got a certification in GMAW. And went to work two years at southern Fabricators Building Vulcan Wrecker Beds. Leaved there And went to C.R. England truck driver training School and Been a truck driver as a U.S. MAIL contractor for the last 10 years For J.E. Phillips & Son's Inc. And now work at Pat Salmon & Sons Inc. It's better for me to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt. I wish I were the type who could walk into a place and have everybody love me. But I'm not, and there's no use wishing. I worked hard and made my own way, just as my father had. And just, I'm sure, as he hoped I would. I learned, from observing him, the satisfaction that comes from striving and seeing a dream fulfilled. Life is full of lessons to be learned. Some of the more noteworthy ones that I live by: 1. Get it the first time around--it saves time and is less painful. 2. It's ok to laugh at yourself--it allows other people to laugh and not feel so bad for your misfortunes (I could give some hilarious examples here). 3. Life is short--live life to its fullest and without regret. 4. Smiling is contagious--smile even if you're having a bad day. It will brighten someone else's day and will usually cause them to smile back at you, brightening your day as well. 5. And, last but not least, God won't give you more than you can handle (I have to remind myself of this daily).
Ok, I do have some really useful advice if you're going canoeing. And If you are a first-timer or are sharing a canoe with a first-timer. I suggest wearing snug swim ware and shoes, and using bungee cords to securely keep everything in your canoe. But before doing some serious paddling, do wipe that excess sunscreen off your hands to prevent being smacked in the head by your own paddle. Always make sure your front seat driver is paddling in the same direction you are. Be prepared to break a sweat when paddling to catch up, but don't lose your cool over the other person paddling in reverse. And, if you find yourself laughing so hard that you piss in your undergarments, it's ok, you're in the river. Take the life that you have, and give it your best. Think positive, be happy, let God do the rest. Take the challenges, that life has laid at your feet. Take pride and be thankful, for each one you meet. To yourself give forgiveness, if you stumble and fall. Take each day that is dealt you, and give it your all.
