Hi! I believe you were my home ec. teacher in Jr. High at Cabool School when you were married to Mr. Northup, the P.E. Coach. You were a SPECIAL role model for me at a very impressionable age. You were still newlyweds and I loved the special attention he showed you, opening doors and treating you like a real special person in his life. I remember that yr you made clown outfits for you both to wear 'alike' costumes that you made and had them hanging up on the closet mirror doors.

There are so many things I think about that I have thought about thru the years

That was my first attempt to sew, was in your class and I made an apron (most younger generations don't know what one is now) and my color I chose was a med. light blue and white checks gingham color. The apron was easy to make and a real challenge too at the same time. Also, we got to choose our own meal and the team I was in...a girl with the last name of Swearingin had the upper hand of the team and made us all eat liversworth which I think was really nasty. Ugh. LOL I remember one day you was absent and we had Mrs. Davis as a substitute. She was a retired teacher and the subject was on personal care. ONe of the things she talked about was taking care of our eye lashes, and nails.

This time of year I start getting a few of the I'm not getting ready for school twangs, and then the heat hits and the friends of mine still teaching are on the hill getting ready and I remember that I really like not having to be up there in the heat(although not like it used to be with just fans...lol) Have a Grand day and maybe will see you soon!

You wore heels so it would make you a little taller because Ed was so tall. That is how I will always see you, in my mind is that sweet looking eloquent blonde. I have that yearbook around somewhere I think maybe.

Yes, Coach was one of my favorite teachers - you lost him too soon, huh? But, time does go on. I have been at the bank for 40 years this August. YIKES! Jimi and I have one son, and one grandaughter. She just turned one year old in August and is precious, but unfortunately they live in Maryland. Too far away! Our class doesn't have reunions, no one ever wants to come! Ha!! Some of us girls do get together once in awhile. It was really nice to hear from you, if you are ever in Cabool stop by the bank and see me!

Jan, This is Teresa Hood, I don't think I have that ugly pink dress I made in home ec. anywhere.  You really had to help me a lot with that zipper.  LOL!  It was fun learning to sew.  I sewed my little girls clothes for them as they grew so I guess you got something through my head.  I remember in Coaches class I would fall asleep, not because it was boring but because I was ill.  He called my mom and told her because he was worried.  It was a thyroid problem that made me sleep in the afternoon classes.  Glad to see you on here, it sure brought back a lot of memories.
