Sixth LAW class and Reunion

Well, the LAW class went okay. I lost 5 lbs. Which was good. Dr S and I didn't talk for very long as I was the last patient and he wanted to talk to the whole group about diet drugs. He did say that my blood pressure was up again. We did talk about my ligaments in my heel that has been acting up which my podatrist has deemed me unfit for water aerobics for the next couple of weeks. Which is making me crazy! I love water aerobics! The reunion was not what I was expecting. Marie, Kevin, and I were too late to register and we didn't see anyone in our class there until we went to check out the volleyball games and there was Joanne used to be Carpio and Jennifer used to be Aldridge. They were nice enough to let Kevin play with them in the last game of the day. I thought that was nice of them. I was too much of a cluck-cluck to go over to them and chat. I am still suffering from that old shyness. I guess I'm still thinking of them as the "it" girls from school and not grown ups. Sorry Ladies. We didn't realize that we were supposed to be part of the parade so we went and staked out a part of space to wait for the parade and snap some photos. I quite enjoyed the alumni football game though. And usually I hate sports!See More

The Retreat

I had so much fun at the Retreat! I wish every woman was there! It was such a blessing to be there! Not just to be with my Sisters but I actually felt like Christ was actually with us at times. We were blessed with songs by Charles Tantone on Saturday night, who sang wonderfully. He is such a great singer. I know I'm going on and on about him but I sort of feel like I know him. I know his parents from church. We were also blessed with some excellent musical numbers by Becky Saylor and a few… Continue

In Addition To My Last Blog

It seems that I don't have to put my dreams of "going" to college on the back burner after all. My Pell Grant and Stafford Loans came through for me. I have enough to go to the summer session, plus get the computer I need to keep up with the classes. I received my books yesterday. I've already cracked one open and started reading it. I want to familiarize myself with them before I really have to study them. Besides it's a small book. I'm so buzzed! I start the eleventh of this month. I can… Continue

Fifth LAW Class

Sorry I haven't let you know what has been going on lately. It's been a week since my trip to Columbia and I haven't updated you yet.

Well, we basically just went over things that we knew. We also was informed that unless we showed better results our appointments were going to be scheduled farther apart to let more people into the program. Ones that will show results. We talked about long-term goals and we are suppose to bring in a veggie-centered main dish recipe for the class's recipe… Continue

Fourth LAW class

Well, that trip to Columbia and back does not get any shorter the more you travel it. We left the house about an hour early so that meant that we got there an hour early but we were about the first ones to see the doctor and in the conference room. We got home at a little before 7pm.

My visit with my bariatrician was great this time. He informed me that I lost 18 lbs in the month. I was shocked! I thought I only lost 5 or 6 lbs but 18? Yeah, I'll take it! I still have about a hundred lbs… Continue

Hey lady good to see you got on here. Did you check out my sight? You need to put up some
pictures of Spike at least. Check out the groups with 1989. Belinda Giles set up a list of everyone
who was at one time in the class of 89 even if they didn't graduate. I was shocked to see how many
people didn't graduate with the class. If you go to caboolalumni.com you can pick a yearbook and see
the graduating Seniors pictures. Pretty cool to see how everyone turned out.

Hi Missy, glad to see you on here. I know you and Marie keep in touch and she gives me updates on how everything's going. Good luck with everything and be confident that you can do what you need to by September. I have faith in you.
And that is so awesome that you are getting published! That's talent. Be proud.

Hey lady,
Yeah I went on the zipline. That was the one thing I wanted
to do. Kevin loved it almost as much as I did. Now I want
to bungee jump and skydive. I have decided that if I can
get down to my goal weight I am going skydiving with or with
out Kevin. He thinks I am nuts but it is something I am bound and determined to do. Is there a way to preorder
your book? I will if you give me the info.

Melissa, glad to see you on here. Congrats on the book! How exciting! While your on here, go to the groups section and joing the 1989 group and add some more pics. It's always fun to see everyone's families, friends, pets, etc.
What have you been up to?

Sure you can put your comments on...you were a part of Cabool Schools at some point! The school wasn't built just by those who graduated there, every person who has ever attended there has added to our experiences at Cabool.
Spike is adorable. I have a Sharpei - Chloe. They are a big part of our families arent they?

Melissa,
Love the puppy. I have several dogs and puppies as I raise puppies for companion dogs. I don't know what I would do without my Shrek, he is the silver dapple doxie on my page. He is my empty nest baby that started the whole raising puppies thing. When is your poetry book coming out? I defintely want to get a copy. Congratulations on getting published. I loved the way you wrote your blog, just talking. I used to have the hardest times with my students getting them to understand that journaling was just talking. You have it mastered beautifully. Keep me posted about your book and take care.

We will be getting a golden retriever. I am a big dog person, and a friend of ours gave us a golden retriever about 9 years ago, and he was the best dog. Unfortunately, he got hit by a car. The golden's temperament is the best with children. I also enjoy playing fetch with dogs, so that fits us well. Ainsley, my daughter, loves the Air Bud series, so now we just have to find a reputable breeder and the right price. Golden's are not cheap. We did look into adopting but most the goldens available through Nor Cal Rescue are older, and we don't want to have a dog for two or three years and then put it to sleep. When we lost Samson our other dog it was like losing a family member. We cried for days, and I still get choked up thinking of him. I hope all is well with you and your diet is helping you reach your goal of the bypass surgery. I work with several that have had the procedure, and it has completely changed their lives. Take care.

It is my plan to be at the 20th class reunion if they make it late in June. I cannot go to the all school reunion because it is on Memorial Day Weekend, and I am still coaching track at that time. I have not heard for sure when the 20th reunion of our class is going to be. I did see some people that I hadn't seen in a LONG time this past 4th of July weekend. Since moving to California, I lost touch with almost everyone. This site has been great to get back in touch with everyone. About dogs, I think I would love a small dog just as much as a big one if we had one, but since we are putting money into it, and its for our daughter, the golden retriever has the best temperament for children. Take Care.

Did you go through the list that Belinda created of all our classmates? I had forgotten so many. It seems at school anymore I have problems putting faces with names of kids that I had taught just a year or two before. We are still waiting for the right opportunity to buy Ainsley a dog. She hasn't mentioned it much lately, but everytime I see a golden I get to thinking about it again. I am actually kind of waiting to get a little extra money from a retroactive payment from our district for our teaching contract that we just settled for LAST YEAR! We worked all year last year without a contract. Negotiation issues are an interesting thing in California. Californians love their red tape. I will keep you posted about the dog and will be sure to post pictures. Hope all is well.
