Blessing from the heavens...RAIN!!

It feels surreal, but we have had rain!! On Tuesday, we had an extreme fire alert for all the state with 4 fires still burning, but within the containment lines. We had winds that reached 125kms (about 100mph), very gusty, and were expecting high temperatures. But prayers were answered, the temperature stayed down, and although the winds were still extreme, not much lightening - and it brought rain. We could hardly believe it when the first sprinkles started! And when the down pour came, it was… Continue

Girl, I have wondered and thought about you a million times! You had better write me! You had (and probably still have) the best personality. Wish I could see you.

Sandy,
I am so glad you found this site. I sent you an e-mail through classmates.com about this site, but I am not sure things get through to everyone they are supposed to on there.
How are things down under? I don't keep up with your family like I did since we moved from Tindel Terrace. Your mom used to keep me posted, but wow that seems like a century ago.
You look great and it appears life has treated you very well. I can't believe your baby is 18 now. seems like yesterday your mom was showing me her pictures. Time flies by quickly.
Enjoy catching up with everyone here, it has been a blast and what a wonderful way to have an online reunion every day!!!

Yes, I did know about your mother and the old neighborhoo doesn't look the same. There is only one family there that lived there when we were there. Kinda sad. Everytime I was in town I would look for your moms car and try to track her down to see how she was and how you were. We have been in West Plains since October 1996. We left Cabool in October 1986 and moved to Willard, MO. Our oldest son Jonnathan (Jonn) graduated from Willard High School. He has never been married and says he probably will never find anyone who will put up with his neatness. He is neat to the extreme. Kinda drives people nuts. Jennifer our daughter lives about 2 miles from us. She and her husband Chris have our three beautiful grand babies. Halyn 7, Logan 5, Ashlin 2. They are the light of our lives. Logan is Nana's bestest buddy. When his sister was born he stayed with me and everytime she has been in the hospital since he stays with me. So we have a special relationship and he tells me I am his snuggle bunny. Our youngest Jared was married, trying to get the divorce through, and get on with school. He has decided he wants to be a welder and go to work in Alaska.
I am a full-time realtor, work part-time for Missouri State University, and raise dogs. Danny still sells insurance as an independent agent now and does almost all of the physical labor with the dogs and does the grooming. I take care of the paperwork and internet, pictures and help feed and water. I also do the shots for the puppies and then the rest of the medical needs are taken care of by our vet.
That is the sum of my life in a nutshell. What about you?

Sandy,
Geez I sure hope I'm not the same! LOL
Yes, I did marry Bobby Horbyk, but we divorced about 8 years ago. However, we are still good friends, and we share three beautiful kids together. He still lives in Houston so we see each other a lot. My gosh you have four kids? I can't wait to see pictures. Tell me about Australia, what an adventure that must be. This site has been wonderful, there are so many people on here, people I thought I'd never see or hear from again (like you). Do you ever come back to Cabool?

Hi Sandy!! You found the site. It was so good to hear from you this weekend. It's been so long since we have spoken. I guess you heard that Mr. Clark recently died. That was sad news. I sure wish you could come back for your reunion in about a month but that is not enough notice for you, I am sure.
You should put some pics up of your family. Better get busy. Talk soon. I will email.
Love,
Ten

It's so great to see you on here. I'm sure you're already addicted to this site like the rest of us. Great fun... I'm probably in the same place that you were about 10 years ago. I'm either taking a kid someplace or going to pick one up. Will I ever get to have an uninterupted conversation with my wife ever again? I'm so ready. Stay in touch..

Yes, I agree where has the time gone???? Sounds like things have went well for you. Who would have thought when we were in HS that we would all end up where we are today!!! I do understand the seeing the baby go off. My youngest moved to NC two weeks before he turned 18 and I thought I was gonna go nuts. The house was so quiet and my baby was so far away. he and I had been extremely close as he was born with some major medical problems and he continued to develop more problems as he grew, so mom was his best friend. He and I would go to Austin Lake (between Cabool & Grove) and spend the day with him fishing, we would picnic, and have a wonderful time. Each day was an adventure with him growing up. He lived in NC 3 years and called late one night and said he would see me the next day. He drove his motorcycle all the way and actually arrived home three days later, but he came back home. I discovered that he missed me as much as I missed him. Now he wants to go to Alaska and work when he gets through school. But, I have adjusted better now.
The empty nest thing hit us and so we filled our lives with puppies. First one, which led to another, and another, and so on. We so much enjoy all our babies and love to provide families with loving companions.
Next time you are coming to Missouri let me know, I would love to see you again. It's been too long. Take care.
