Wishing each and every one a Very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year. Although many of us have reunited here in this great venue, there are still some missing from the scene, some that have left us this year, and others waiting to join us. During this wonderful season let us each one take a few moments to remember and reflect, being thankful for the wonderful place we all grew up and the fact that we are truly all one big family. Let us all rember the reason for the season and follow the tru…

Well, the LAW class went okay. I lost 5 lbs. Which was good. Dr S and I didn't talk for very long as I was the last patient and he wanted to talk to the whole group about diet drugs. He did say that my blood pressure was up again. We did talk about my ligaments in my heel that has been acting up which my podatrist has deemed me unfit for water aerobics for the next couple of weeks. Which is making me crazy! I love water aerobics!
The reunion was not what I was expecting. Marie, Kevin, and I were…

I had so much fun at the Retreat! I wish every woman was there! It was such a blessing to be there! Not just to be with my Sisters but I actually felt like Christ was actually with us at times. We were blessed with songs by Charles Tantone on Saturday night, who sang wonderfully. He is such a great singer. I know I'm going on and on about him but I sort of feel like I know him. I know his parents from church. We were also blessed with some excellent musical numbers by Becky Saylor and a few othe…

It seems that I don't have to put my dreams of "going" to college on the back burner after all. My Pell Grant and Stafford Loans came through for me. I have enough to go to the summer session, plus get the computer I need to keep up with the classes. I received my books yesterday. I've already cracked one open and started reading it. I want to familiarize myself with them before I really have to study them. Besides it's a small book. I'm so buzzed! I start the eleventh of this month. I can hardl…

Sorry I haven't let you know what has been going on lately. It's been a week since my trip to Columbia and I haven't updated you yet.
Well, we basically just went over things that we knew. We also was informed that unless we showed better results our appointments were going to be scheduled farther apart to let more people into the program. Ones that will show results. We talked about long-term goals and we are suppose to bring in a veggie-centered main dish recipe for the class's recipe book. I…

It feels surreal, but we have had rain!! On Tuesday, we had an extreme fire alert for all the state with 4 fires still burning, but within the containment lines. We had winds that reached 125kms (about 100mph), very gusty, and were expecting high temperatures. But prayers were answered, the temperature stayed down, and although the winds were still extreme, not much lightening - and it brought rain. We could hardly believe it when the first sprinkles started! And when the down pour came, it was…

Well, that trip to Columbia and back does not get any shorter the more you travel it. We left the house about an hour early so that meant that we got there an hour early but we were about the first ones to see the doctor and in the conference room. We got home at a little before 7pm.
My visit with my bariatrician was great this time. He informed me that I lost 18 lbs in the month. I was shocked! I thought I only lost 5 or 6 lbs but 18? Yeah, I'll take it! I still have about a hundred lbs to shed…

As of the 13th, I am enrolled into an online college. I will be studying for a Bachelor's in Psychology. I could go for an Associate's but a Bachelor's has all the Associate's classes plus 45 electives of which I can choose religion to be one of. I have my financial aid in the works as well as a "newer" computer that I will need for school. One of the good thing about this online school is that they have start dates about every month, that way if my financial aid or computer isn't in line yet, m…

Wednesday we went to Columbia to see my bariatrician and to attend my third LAW class. I missed the one in December because of bad weather. Don't worry, though, I've asked for the homework they had for December to be sent to me so I won't be behind. My doctor prescribed me phentermine because I only lost three and a half pounds in two months. (Christmas was bad and I had gained 5 pounds over the holidays.) Phentermine is a drug that takes away your hunger and promotes energy. I hope it does the…
