This time of year always brings reflection on what we have to be Thankful for and here are some things we, as members of Cabool Space have to be Thankful for:
We should be thankful for growing up in the small community of Cabool, which gave us the opportunites to play outside safely.
We should be thankful for the values that we learned growing up in a small community where everyone watched out for everyone and we made lifetime friends.
We should be thankful for the school system which we had the opportunity to attend and many graduate from. We learned many valuable lessons while we were there. Because of those lessons, as we look across Cabool Space and see the varied professions we have gone into it should make us all proud that our families chose to live there and we could have the opportunites we were given.
Friday night Football is still a mainstay, a major community event. Basketball games are still the place to be in the winter months, and in the spring and summer baseball and track are the events to attend.
We were provided the opportunity to have a City Pool, beautiful parks, and only a short drive to the creek for fishing, swimming, or floating.
We should also be very thankful to Tom Walls for creating this wonderful avenue for all of us with the commonality of Cabool to join together to reunite with old friends and to gain new friends.
If you haven't been back to town in awhile, it would be worth the trip to see what is happening here now. Things are different, but Main Street is still Main Street and the flags still fly for holidays from the light poles down Main Street. People still make strangers feel welcome and the welcome mat is always out.
To each and everyone of you I wish a Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving.
